As if we are in the last couple of weeks of the season, usually a lot of gear and ½ used equipment gets binned, but we’ve got a better use for your old winter gear.
Lots of chalets are closing this weekend whilst some are sticking it out until the lifts close next week. It’s about now when you start looking around your room at realise there is NO WAY you’re going to be able to get everything home in one suitcase and a board bag! Curse internet shopping!
So here we are to save the day! Act for Ref are collecting donations for refugees currently displaced throughout Europe. At the start of the season, you might remember we hosted a drive for Riders for Refugees for warm winter clothes – and you guys were awesome and we ended up with bags and bags of useful clothes for people.
What can you donate?
This time round we are collecting anything and everything :
- Clothes – adults and children
- Blankets & linen
- Cleaning products
- Food items (sealed)
- Cooking utensils
So when you are packing up your belongings and you can’t get something home, just think would it make a difference to someone in need? If so, make sure it is in good condition (clean / not broken / sealed etc etc) and bag it up for us to donate.
Where & when can you drop off?
We are using Scotty’s La Plagne as a drop off point again. You can come along any time this week and next week to give us anything that will help. Just drop your items to one of the bar staff and let them know it’s for Jen and Act for Ref.
If you want to know more about this excellent cause, check out the link here for more info. We’ll also be posting updates on the EDGE facebook pages and Instagram so keep an eye on them for what’s going on.
So get donating and a massive thanks in advance!
