Snow Report: A Week In Paradiski

by JP of AIM Snowsports

Although a small new dusting of snow was received on Monday across the resort, the fierce winds that followed on Tuesday removed much of it from the most exposed pistes. In turn, this was deposited as pockets of compacted snow around Paradiski. The most sheltered areas seemed to do well from this particularly under Les Arcs’ Varet gondola, and its more protected couloirs.

On Wednesday we found some nice off piste – see for yourself on this video:

Although varied and slightly unpredictable, the compacted snow broke up into more sugary powder-like snow and presented a different challenge to the pistes which are becoming evermore solid and icy.  It was definitely fun! Each night the Les Arcs piste grooming team are doing an incredible job to resurrect the pistes each morning. I hear the Sahara desert has had more snow than the Alps this week so our luck must be due to change soon… I hope.
