Paradiski Snow Report & Weather Forecast 18.12.16

by JP of AIM Snowsports

So today was pleasantly surprising.  I was expecting hordes of people on packed slopes but it really was quite nice!  It looks like the crowds have stayed away, for now anyway and so the pistes are still making for enjoyable skiing.  Of course, the snow is become compacted and more challenging the lower in altitude you descend but without the crowds you would normally expect this time of year, the skiing is still good.

The Aiguille rouge and Varet gondola still have access to the slopes in the best condition however the highest slopes above Peisey Vallandry are pretty good too.

Off piste at high altitude, some of the closed runs have chalky snow which actually skis better than some of the pistes in later afternoon.

Having said all that, the snow on the short term forecast Monday and Tuesday will provide a welcome refresh of the pistes and hopefully the longer term forecast of much bigger snowfall comes true as well.

It could be a white Christmas after all!
