Paradiski Snow Report & Weather Forecast 12.01.16

By JP of Aim Ski School

A tough day for those in Arc 2000 and Arc 1950 with all the lifts closed this morning as well as all the roads.  Finally 3 lifts opened and those that were brave enough to venture into the snowstorm got to ski.

For the lucky ones in Arc 1600, Arc 1800 and Peisey Vallandry the snow was fantastic.  The trees offered the best snow with the wind depositing big dumps in the forest.  The high lifts remain shut and the crowds headed to Vallandry where the lift queue was huge.

The weather tomorrow morning will be similar with poor visibility and snow in the morning but the afternoon looks like it will clear. There will be a lot of Avalanche clearing work done by the Pisteurs so I don’t foresee the higher lifts opening until that work is complete, which is unlikely tomorrow.

The off piste snow is fantastic but the risk incredibly high so caution is advised everywhere.  The snowdrifts are deceptive in the bad visibility so keep your speed down and be cautious.

Today was the best snow of the season so far with thigh deep snow in the trees.  Winter is finally here!
