Award-winning freeski film Fast Forward – a frantic chase through La Plagne’s resorts and mountains involving 2 of the greats Kevin Rolland and Julien Regnier – is now available to watch for free.
The plot is simple: Perched on a chairlift, Kevin drops his phone which lands in Julien’s pocket as he skis underneath. Leaping from the chairlift, there follows a fast and thrilling ski chase with heart-stopping tricks on the slopes. In resort the chase continues through restaurant terraces, on roofs and trailers and even down the Olympic bobsleigh run – the first time it’s been skied! Jumping 30 metres above the Bon Vieux Temps in Plagne Aime 2000 for the film was one of the most memorable moments of his career, Rolland said.
Rolland is one of the world’s most successful freestyle skiers – halfpipe world champion, X-Games medalist and bronze medalist in the Sochi Olympics. Regnier is the mogul and freestyle backcountry skiing master. Both are from La Plagne.
Fast Forward was shot in just 11 days in April 2015. It has some interesting guest stars like Loic Costerg the bobsled driver, and Alpine skiers Brice Roger and Maxence Muzaton. The film received a very warm welcome at two recent festivals. The IF3, the International Freeski Film Festival films in Montreal, awarded Fast Forward the prize for best short film. A few days later, at its premiere screening in Annecy for the High Five Festival (Festival International Freeski Film), it was acclaimed by all festivalgoers.
Being able to ride my station in a completely different way, around the buildings was a very exciting challenge. The jump over the Bon Vieux Temps in Plagne Aime 2000, will remain one of the most memorable moments of my career. The kicker was small compared to the size of the flight – it was very hard to gauge speed and, in fact, anticipate the momentum … and it’s me who took the test crash!
“Kevin and I had a restless night the day before the jump Bon Vieux Temps … We knew it was going to fly up and we could not afford to leave details to chance. In the end, this film has been a great adventure with pals. And the main thing is that this video transmits that same positive energy to people who will look at it, this crazy urge to be on skis.

We wanted to make beautiful images of free skiing. Fast Forward is an ambitious project, both in terms of the realisation, logistics, and the physical and technical commitment of skiers. It was 11 days of intense shooting which extracted the quintessence of 5 minutes of action.
